 The objective of this course is to train ship officers aboard passenger ships, other than RO-RO passenger ships, in the area of crowd management. The following skills will be taught: controling a crowd in an emergency situation; locate essential safety and emergency equipment; communicate effectively with passengers during an emergency; demonstrate the use of personal life-saving apparatus; and comply with the ship's safety and emergency procedures. Any applicant who has successfully completed the course will satisfy the standards set out in Chapter A-V/2 and section A-V/3, paragraph 1, 2, and 3 for the minimum standards for the training of masters, officers, ratings and other personnel on passenger ships other than RO-RO passenger ships. This course is offered in conjunction with Crisis Management & Human Behavior.
