Management of risk in cargo losses and theft prevention are explored in this program with an in-depth perspective, technical details, and associated practical methodology.  Program highlights include introduction to cargo security and the role of asset protection in all transportation modes; the organized crime threat; vulnerability of the freight transportation system; industry standards, benchmarking, and industry “best practices” for minimizing cargo theft; current developments in cargo security technology; and cooperative efforts of key players in the government's anti-crime cargo networks (federal, state, and local law enforcement and regulatory agencies).  It also includes a field visit to observe security practices first-hand during an all-day evolution to three major cargo handling facilities representing air, marine, and rail modes.
