To help meet the need for increased vigilance in the post 9/11 world, this course provides participants with a critical analysis of the marine transportation system, with a specific focus on how the joint private/public sector's anti-terrorism role is required to protect ports, ships and cargo. Initiatives from current federal, state and city organizational constructs to ensure proper contingency plans will be analyzed and reviewed by anti-terrorism experts. Participants will gain an in depth understanding of maritime anti-terrorism measures, supply chain integrity requirements and the key elements of an incident command system. The course will also provide a working knowledge of crisis management with a focus on consequence planning, execution, crisis execution and mitigation, and will illustrate issues involved with managing public affairs, media communication and relations impacting ocean terminal operation. Presentations will be made from corporate and government agency members who are currently involved with combating modern maritime terrorism. |
