Fast Rescue Boats
The objective of this course is to train students to launch and take charge of a fast rescue boat, in accordance with Section A-V1/2 of the STCW Code. The curriculum covers the requirements of the 1995 STCW Convention Chapter V1, Section A-V1/2, Table AV1/2-2. Once meeting the minimum competency in fast rescue boats, trainees will be prepared to handle and take charge of such boats during or after launch in adverse weather and sea conditions. They will also be able to operate a fast rescue boat engine. A majority of the course is comprised of practical exercises in launching, recovery and operation of Rigid Hull Inflatable Boats.
