Prospective and practicing surveyors will study the operating principles and characteristics of slow and medium speed diesel engines.  This will include engine performance, wear evaluation, component function, casualty assessment, survey documentation, report writing, the role of regulatory agencies, and the legal ramifications of surveyor assessments.
