GMATS Courses

In this practical course, students learn both basic and advanced firefighting.  The first part of the course teaches basic fire prevention, safety, firefighting techniques, and proper use and care of firefighting equipment.  The advanced portion teaches firefighting command, decision-making responsibilities and coordination when fighting a fire aboard a ship.  Two days of practical training gives the students hands-on experience and confidence to fight fires using methods taught in class.  This course is designed to satisfy the U.S. Coast Guard requirements for original and license upgrades per CFR Title 46, Parts 10.205(g) and 10.207(f).  It meets IMO and STCW-95 requirements.
