Military, government, and commercial transportation professionals who require an in-depth view of the organization of ports and marine terminals, as well as shipping company operations will receive instruction which includes a comprehensive analysis of the various types of cargo terminals and their unique characteristics.  The student is provided with a review of basic cargo documentation, customs procedures, function of shippers and functions of freight forwarders.  Students are then presented with a basic look at electronic communications and information systems.  Additional topics for discussion include issues regarding port construction, physical port restrictions, vessel restrictions, and port & terminal security.
