GMATS BOARD OF DIRECTORS – STATUS OF GMATS

As many of our customers may now be aware, GMATS plans to discontinue operations no later July 31, 2012. For customers with near-term training scheduled with GMATS, we do not anticipate any disruption of planned course offerings.

We recognize the uncertainty and inconvenience these developments have caused our customers, and we will provide additional information as it becomes available.

GMATS is now Partnered with San Diego City College’s (SDCC) Military Education Program

GMATS is now partnered with San Diego City College’s (SDCC) Military Education Program to offer certification opportunities which ensures each student the maximum career choices. City College is accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC), a Servicemembers Opportunity College (SOC), and a certified Postsecondary Minority-Serving Institution. City College’s Military Education program is a certified NAVSEA Seaport –e vendor.

GMATS and Carlisle Maritime Group (CMG) Partner to Offer STCW Management Level Online Course

Global Maritime and Transportation School GMATS is partnered with Carlisle Maritime Group™ to provide the practical portion of the first National Maritime Center (NMC) certification approved, STCW Management Level online course, Ship Management and Emergency Response.

To honor the U.S. Coast Guard on its 221^st Birthday the students from GMATS marched down to sing “Happy Birthday” to BMC Adam Noorigian, USCG(OIC) in front of the USCG Station. This is the second annual tribute to the USCG by Navy Students attending GMATS.

Legacy of Excellence

Continuing Education for professionals in the maritime industry began at Kings Point in the 1960’s with the Nuclear Ship Savannah Project. At the time, engineers assigned to the Savannah received specialized nuclear engineering training at the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy.
